Superb Underwater Imaging
View Into The Blue® is a pioneer in solutions for long-term visual monitoring of aquatic environments. Our aquatic vision systems couple industry-leading optics and sensor technologies with robust self-cleaning housings to provide an unparalleled view beneath the waves. We provide systems that are focused on a single field of view (fixed orientation), 360° pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) systems, and those that produce 360° stitched virtual reality.
Our IP-based (Ethernet) vision systems can be easily configured to stream live video to free public streaming platforms for worldwide dissemination. They can also be configured to stream video to only a specific audience, a control room, or to simply archive recorded video for later analysis. Most systems can also collect still images at predetermined intervals and orientations for assembly into long-term time-lapse videos.
Patented CleanSweep™ Self-Cleaning Technology
Biofouling is one of the greatest challenges for long-term underwater imaging. View Into The Blue®’s CleanSweep™ housings solve this problem with a patented lens-cleaning system. Our wiper-based technologies dramatically reduce the frequency and costs of maintenance for the submerged optical elements, including lens ports for cameras and illuminators. Our self-cleaning technologies use no toxic chemicals and have no impacts on marine life. We are the only provider of robust self-cleaning vision systems suitable for long-term deployment underwater.
Simple, Modular Architecture
View Into The Blue® monitoring solutions have been designed from the ground up to be modular and expandable. Our unique aquatic observatories typically include a constellation of self-cleaning vision systems, hydrophones, controllable underwater lighting and scientific sensors that you monitor and control locally, or over the internet. Expand your data collection capabilities by integrating nearly any third-party aquatic sensor or instrument at nearly point in the system–whether it communicates via TCP/IP or serial communication protocols.
Sensor Integration & Data Collection
Our aquatic observatory systems can easily integrate most water quality sensors or instrument packages. Using standard-grade sensors or high-precision oceanographic instruments, your observatory will produce important data on temperature, tides, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen and a variety of other variables in real time. Our flexible systems allow for the integration of nearly any serial or IP-based device from the leading instrument manufacturers. Our systems can automatically archive most data types in a private or public cloud repository, as well as disseminate data to the worldwide public in real time.
24/7 Real-Time Imaging & Data
Stream live, high-definition underwater video, audio, and data to a specific audience or the worldwide public. Our products easily stream to free live-streaming platforms. Its also simple to configure our web-based dashboard to automatically collect time-lapse imagery and archive critical environmental data.
We also offer enterprise-ready streaming service packages that can accommodate multiple camera streams, unlimited viewership, live broadcasting, embedding, social sharing, logo overlay, long-term recording, and AI/machine-learning routines.
Underwater Illumination
Extend your viewing hours into the night with one or more of our high-efficiency, compact LED illuminators. Using our self-cleaning technologies, our illuminators are engineered to withstand harsh marine environments over the long-term. Our illuminators have IP-based controls, permitting remote activation, dimming and establishing lighting schedules from a simple web-based interface.
Artificial Intelligence-Enabled
With our AI-enabled vision systems, you can deploy an object detection and identification model directly within a vision system, in a workstation on land, or in the cloud. Use one of our basic AI models immediately while you collect datasets for tailoring identification models to your specific habitat. Our always-connected cabled systems allow you to rapidly iterate and update your machine learning model over the Internet, even when the hardware is deep under water.
Traditional & Alternative Connectivity
Most of our aquatic observatories are cabled to shore, where they connect to a standard electrical receptacle and an Ethernet port. With a standard cabled solution you’ll be able to transmit high-definition video and other important data over distances of 2 km or more.
For longer distances, or in areas where a cable run is impractical, we design and deploy remote powering and connectivity solutions. Using solar power and backup batteries as well as long-distance wireless radios, mobile/cellular connectivity or satellite internet, we can design an observatory that can be deployed nearly anywhere on the planet.
Hydroacoustics & Bioacoustics
Increase engagement and enhance your monitoring of an aquatic environment by collecting and/or broadcasting underwater audio along with your video stream. Most of our vision systems ship with an integrated or external standard-quality hydrophone (underwater microphone). For discerning users, we also integrate sensitive, broad-bandwidth digital or analog hydrophones. With these, the data collected by your observatory can be used for acoustics research, including the detection and identification of marine mammals, changes in the soundscape over time, or for quantifying noise pollution.
